A BILL to repeal article two, chapter seventeen of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended; and to amend and reenact section two, article one of said chapter, relating to repeal of provisions relating to the state road commission and transfer of powers and duties of that commission to the commissioner of highways.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article two, chapter seventeen of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be repealed; and that section two, article one of said chapter be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 1. DEFINITIONS.

§17-1-2. "Commission"; "road commission"; "state road commission."

The words and terms "commission," "road commission" or "state road commission," when used in this chapter, except in article two thereof and in references to the commission established by said article, shall refer to and mean the West Virginia commissioner of highways, created by section one, article two-a of this chapter. Whenever reference is made to the "commission," "road commission" or "state road commission," the power or duty prescribed shall apply to the West Virginia commissioner of highways, unless the context clearly requires a different meaning.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to repeal provisions of the code relating to the state road commission heretofore created and continued and to transfer its powers and duties to the commissioner of highways.
